PEDIATRIC SERVICES

Complete care through childhood

01

Newborn & Infant Care

Newborn and infant reviews may include feeding and breastfeeding assessment, weight and growth monitoring, jaundice review, sleep and hygiene guidance, and evaluation of common early-life concerns. Parents are advised when urgent assessment or specialist/hospital care is appropriate.

02

Vaccination & Immunization

Immunization counselling includes review of previous vaccine records, age-appropriate scheduling and catch-up planning. Recommendations are individualized and may refer to India’s National Immunization Schedule and/or current Indian Academy of Pediatrics guidance as clinically appropriate.

03

Growth & Development

Periodic monitoring of growth and age-appropriate developmental milestones helps identify concerns early. Assessment may include growth measurements, feeding and nutrition, motor, language, social and behavioural development, followed by counselling or referral when needed.

04

Common Childhood Illnesses

Clinical assessment of common childhood concerns such as fever, cough, cold, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhoea, rashes and other infections. Treatment is based on examination and clinical need; antibiotics and investigations are used only when medically indicated.

05

Nutrition & Feeding

Age-appropriate feeding and nutrition counselling, including breastfeeding support, complementary feeding from around 6 months when developmentally appropriate, dietary diversity and practical guidance for healthy growth. Advice is tailored to the child and family.

06

Respiratory & Allergic Conditions

Assessment of recurrent cough, wheeze, allergic rhinitis and other common respiratory or allergic symptoms. Care may include trigger assessment, treatment plans, inhaler/spacer technique education where prescribed, follow-up and referral when required.

07

School & Adolescent Health

Age-appropriate preventive care for school-age children and adolescents, including growth, nutrition, sleep, physical activity, puberty-related concerns and general wellbeing. Confidentiality and parental involvement are handled according to age, clinical context and applicable professional standards.

08

Parenting Guidance

Practical, evidence-informed guidance for parents on feeding, sleep, hygiene, development, illness care, medication safety, screen habits and preventive health. Online information is educational and does not replace an individual medical consultation.

Simple reference material for parents. These guides support — but do not replace — an individual consultation with your pediatrician.

01 • VACCINATION GUIDE

A parent-friendly immunization guide

Based on India’s National Immunization Schedule. Bring your child’s vaccination card to every visit so previous doses and the next due date can be verified.

02 • GROWTH & MILESTONES

Growth is a journey, not a single number

Growth is best assessed as a pattern over time. For children from birth to 5 years, WHO Child Growth Standards include weight-for-age, length/height-for-age, weight-for-length/height, BMI-for-age and head circumference-for-age.

By 2 months

Looks at faces, reacts to loud sounds, makes sounds other than crying and holds the head up briefly during tummy time.

By 6 months

Knows familiar people, laughs, takes turns making sounds, reaches for desired toys and rolls from tummy to back.

By 1 year

Plays simple games, waves “bye-bye,” calls a parent by a special name, looks for hidden objects and pulls up to stand.

By 18 months

Points to show something interesting, tries to say several words besides “mama/dada,” follows simple directions and walks without holding on.

By 2 years

Notices when others are upset, uses at least two words together, points to body parts when asked and runs.

By 3–5 years

Language, play, movement, independence and social skills expand rapidly. Regular reviews help track progress and identify concerns early.

What we follow during growth reviewsTrend over time matters more than one isolated measurement
Weight
Length / Height
Head circumference (age appropriate)
Developmental milestones
Nutrition & feeding
Milestones are guides, not a race. Children develop at different rates. If a child loses a skill they previously had, or a parent is concerned about development, early medical review is appropriate rather than waiting for the next routine visit.
03 • SEASONAL HEALTH • HYDERABAD

Practical care through Hyderabad’s changing seasons

Weather and infection patterns vary from year to year. These are practical prevention themes rather than predictions of disease activity.

☀

Hot months

Focus: heat and dehydration prevention.

  • Offer fluids regularly; breastfeed infants frequently.
  • Prefer light clothing, shade and cooler times for outdoor activity.
  • Never leave a child unattended in a parked vehicle.
  • Seek urgent care for confusion, fainting, marked drowsiness or severe heat illness.
☂

Monsoon / rainy periods

Focus: mosquito-bite prevention and food/water hygiene.

  • Empty standing water around the home regularly.
  • Use screens, protective clothing and age-appropriate repellent as directed on the label.
  • Use safe drinking water and freshly prepared food.
  • Persistent fever, unusual bleeding, severe abdominal pain or marked lethargy needs medical assessment.
✚

School & respiratory season

Focus: reducing spread of common infections.

  • Encourage handwashing and cough/sneeze etiquette.
  • Keep routine vaccinations up to date.
  • Prioritize sleep, nutrition and hydration.
  • Breathing difficulty, bluish lips, dehydration or an unusually drowsy child requires urgent assessment.

Season labels are broad Hyderabad planning cues, not a forecast. Parents should follow current local public-health advisories when outbreaks or extreme weather occur.
